Activities

The main activity at BFGcon is playing games.  Board Games, RPGs, Card Games, War Gaming and more!  But what’s an event without a little structure to it!  Brief descriptions of the activities we have planned are listed below.  More details will be added as the event approaches.  Make sure to also check out our Schedule page to understand how the weekend will be arranged.

Board game being played

Open Gaming

Feel free to bring whatever games you are interested in playing, but we’ll also have a wall full of board games available for you to borrow!  Find people to join a game you’ve always wanted to play, or find some new friends who are looking for players.  (We will have table signs available to help you find the type of playgroup you want!)

Stack of Board Games

Reverse Auction

Do you have a bunch of games that you’d rather not own anymore? Or are you on the lookout for some good deals on new-to-you games? Then the reverse auction is for you! On Saturday we will have a room set aside for you to bring in any games that you are interested in selling. You’ll be required to fill out a form with three different prices you are willing to sell the game at, your preferred price, a discount price, and the ‘please I don’t want to take it home with me’ price. Throughout the day at scheduled times, we will drop the price points, and anyone (even non-con attendees) can come and buy any of the games at any point in time. We’ll be accepting both cash and credit for the purchases, and at the end of the day, if you put a game out for sale, you show back up and get a check for the total value of your sales (and pick up any unsold games). Read all the information that you can care to know on our dedicated Auction Page.

Greyhawk Reborn

Greyhawk Reborn

We’ve worked with the living campaign group, Greyhawk Reborn, to host their unique playgroup of author-DMs. They have scheduled a full series of adventures to take place during our event!

Dungeons & Dragons Adventures League

The D&D Adventurers League is an ongoing official campaign for Dungeons & Dragons. It uses the fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons rules and features the Forgotten Realms setting. Players use the fifth edition rules to create a character and bring that character to games anywhere D&D Adventurers League play is happening. Thanks to some amazing volunteers we have a full schedule of adventures, including a brand new epic being run at BFGcon this year!

Magic the Gathering Cards

Magic the Gathering

One of the hosts happens to be a huge MtG fan, and so plans on making sure that his fellow fans are well cared for. We plan on having various scheduled tournaments/events running throughout the weekend so that you can get your fill of the biggest card game in the world!

Chess King

Tournaments

We are definitely looking for groups & gamers who are interested in running tournaments in various games throughout the event.  If you are interested in helping us out with that or donating prizes, please reach out and let us know!

Rock Singer

Entertainment

Both Friday and Saturday evenings, we have booked the stage in the lounge to offer various forms of entertainment (music, comedy, etc) that will appeal to the geeky crowd!

Game pieces

Game Demos

We’ve already had a number of people reach out to us about having some professionally run demonstrations of various games (both new and old). Come check out a game that you’ve always been interested in!

Gummi Bear Winner

Contests

Not interested in tournament play, but still want to win stuff? Assuming that we get appropriate donations we plan on giving out some door prizes as well as having some play-to-win activities where just by borrowing and playing a game you earn a chance to win a copy of it! More details coming soon on that!
